Today I will be showing you some of the different tools that I use to do house cleaning with. I will show you what they are and how I use them. Some of them are quite different from what they were made to be used for.

Most people would look at this and say a putty knife. Yes that is what it is, but I do not use it for that. I use it to help clean those dark spots off the oven when I am cleaning it. It does not damage the oven. It is not sharp so it gives more leverage when you are trying to scrub on things. White vinegar, baking soda, the putty knife and some steal wool is what I use to get the oven clean. It works great.

You can see how clean the oven is. I had just cleaned this one.

This is a Libman micro fiber mop. I use this to dust the hard wood floors. I use this on the floor, and I use it to wash the walls. I have used other brands but the mop heads do not hold up as well as these do. With these when you are washing the walls you do not need to climb on step ladders or anything. For the most part (unless you have very tall ceilings) you can go from floor to ceiling with one swipe. It saves time and effort, you are not climbing up and down like you would if you did the walls by hand.

These are thing that I use all the time. The nut cracker helps me to open bottles when I do not have my husband around to open it for me. I can not stop because I can not get a bottle open. The pick for nut is a great tool to help clean out tight corner area. It is also great for when cleaning the fridge that have the glass shelves the part that always is the hardest place to clean is around the edges where the glass and the metal meet. Another place to use it is in the window slide area for the corners that are always a mess and hard to clean.
The small black and white tool is from an old phone it does a lot of the same things as the nut pick. But if two people need the same tool it is nice to have more than one.
Toothpicks also help to get into small areas. Cotton swabs also help to get into the tight corners.
I always have screw drivers with me. The flat head one is great for getting into the tight spaces. Rap a rag around the end of it and it will fit where a lot of other things will not. The slats of the micro wave or the door to the oven . It gets into those spaces and helps you to clean them.

This is to clean the windshield of the auto. It works good for that. But I use it when I am cleaning the bottom cabinets. I do not like having to climb into them to reach the very back. With the long handle you can get to the back without a problem and you do not have to climb into them.

For those that have these kinds of rugs and you have pets. It is very difficult to get the hair up off of them. Use this tip and it will save you a lot of time. Use a damp paper towel wipe over the rug by hand. This get more hair off of it than you would think. Than vacuum as you would. You will be amazed at the amount of hair that comes up and off the carpet.
Make sure that you do the wet paper towel before you shampoo the rug or you will have hair in wet clumps all over the rug. Not good.

These are the cute little things that put so much fur on everything. Lady the dark haired dog, Sassy the white dog, and George the guard cat. He can be mean if he wants to be. Love them all in spite of George.
One more problem area that some other people might have as well and not know how to take care of it. It is this.....

How to get the hard water deposits out of this kind of faucet.

This is what I do for these. Get a paper towel get it wet with white vinegar let it sit while you clean the rest of the bathroom. When you are done get a stiff cleaning brush and brush the hard water deposits away. A lot of it will come off. You might have to wet it and let it sit again and brush it again and it comes of.

This is what it looked like when I was done. I also did it on the drain area to get the hard water deposits off of that area.
If the shower head can not get water out of it anymore because of the hard water deposits. Try this, put some white vinegar in a plastic bag ( no holes in it) put it over the shower head and tie it on with a twist tie or some thing to keep it in place. Leave it over night. In the morning take the bag off and with a stiff scrub brush, brush it and the hard water should be gone. If it is not all gone after you have used the shower put the bag back on and let it sit all day and brush it again before you go to bed it should be gone.
Pumice stones work really well for the hard water rings in the toilets. Turn the water off by the wall. Flush the toilet. Use the pumice stone on the areas that have the hard water marks. Turn the water back on let it fill the tank and flush to clean the bowl out. Works very well.
I hope that these things help you with your cleaning, like they do when I am on the job doing cleaning for people.
